A Korean Martial Art and Olympic sport. The method focuses on footwork and kicks to the torso of the opponent. Taekwondo stems from an old belief among the upper classes in Korea that the hands should only be used to create art and the legs, to fight. Training helps develop balance, stamina, flexibility, precision and coordination. Intense physical training and a warm, supportive environment create a pleasant, empowering experience and builds self-confidence in the participants. Progress in Taekwondo can be rapid and is measured in belt tests.
